Matteo Zanovello
Visiting PhD Student, Politecnico di Milano

Matteo Zanovello is a Doctoral Student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where his research focuses on the automated disassembly of electric motors from both short-loop (manufacturing scrap) and long-loop (end-of-life) streams within the framework of the circular economy. He is currently a Visiting Student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), conducting research on AI tools for manufacturing productivity and system integration under the supervision of Dr. Brian Anthony. He holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, with a specialization in manufacturing systems and production technologies, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (Italy). He was among the ten researchers selected for the NSF–AITEM international cooperation project AIRES and was awarded a Progetto ROCCA fellowship to support his visiting research at MIT.
